Today I arrived in San Marcos. Chris Perez from Captiva Records picked me up from the airport and took me out to diner with his family. I was nervous because I didn’t know what kind of accommodation he had organized for me. After diner, he took me to the central square and to a building just off it that belongs to a friend of his. That’s where I’m staying. It’s very nice and my host seems friendly. I’ve been thinking that maybe I can find some University students who are into film making to try to take the Oklahoma film project forward. With Bob Childers passing away before I had a chance to meet him, making a film about those people seems more important than ever to me. Those guys are not going to live forever and nobody, as far as I know, is doing anything to capture or document their magic.
